Again I haven’t played Path in 6 months and maybe they’ve changed quite a bit as well! Plus it’s still a relatively new game. It feels like Diablo is heading in the right direction since eradicating the auction house the game is feeling closer and closer to a D2 improvement all the time. I also value customizability quite a bit, and in D3 the gear is just about all that distinguishes you from anyone else and I miss feeling unique/having that GIANT skill tree. Diablo is good but a little TOO quick, whereas Path I found myself loving the game then got stopped dead in my tracks. I even had a buddy who is much more experienced at the game than I helping me, used the message board, and even PoE.trade, but really plateaued in the late game. In Path, once I hit about level 70 and had upper scale support runes, I really hit and wall and curency was super expensive and difficult to come by. The reward system I would probably give the edge to Diablo- I am noticeably progressing in each session I farm and there is consistent looting. However, the atmosphere and aesthetics of PoE are gorgeous and the feel I get playing is unrivaled. I love the gameplay both offer, although I found myself working on the same move/skillset almost the entire game for Path, whereas Diablo there is a rotation of spells through which I cycle that’s even expanded given the introduction of Kanai’s Cube. Having played both Diablo as well as Path (playing D3 2.3 patch, PoE within the past 6 months), I was wondering if anyone else has played both and had strong feelings about which they prefer. I’ve been playing for a few weeks but feel free to add me- Seasonal wizard, Vyrs build, just farming furnace, better hellfire roll, and some ancients! I posted this in the Path sub as well, just looking for some good insight! I think the changes Blizzard has made are super impressive and while far from perfect, the D3 has come a long way and I trust them to keep trying.
